R & N Wedding 2012

Busy busy busy yep that's me. I really love to bake but these days finding the time in amongst swimming, dance, school, friends, family and day to day jobs i find it very hard to find the time to bake however when Raechelle approached me asking to make a cupcake tower for her wedding i said sure why not!
Id been talking about doing something epic with cupcakes ... so here was my chance!

Ive done a few cakes for Raechelle now and I've always had great feedback from her and her friends it was really humbling knowing that she had great faith in me to do a good job and i do admit i always go a bit over the top or outdo myself.

We decided on a yummy vanilla cupcake with vanilla frosting sprinkled with edible glitter and topped with three red roses made of icing i made 120 cakes so 120 x 3 flowers = 360 edible flowers .... yes i am crazy! i spent hours and hours on the flowers i stopped counting after 12 hours yikes!

We also went with a cutting cake for the top it was a moist choccy cake covered with a white icing and topped with little bride and groom that i made from flower paste i thought they came out pretty good as i haven't had much training on figurines

I also made some hearts on wire with some edible glitter for a bit of bling, edible glitter is amazing stuff i just love it!

To display the cakes i ordered a new cupcake tower from Australia ooooo it was so exciting when it arrived!

On the eve of the wedding i made four batches of cake and frosting with the help of my dear friend Rachel, it was super fun to have her help out I'm so lucky to have such amazing friends!

On the wedding day setup took a little bit longer than what i thought but I'm guessing that i was just being extra fussy as every cupcake has a good side, but my gosh when it was put all together i was floored with how well i had done, it just goes to show if you put your mind to it you can do anything!

Nick and Raechelle i hope you enjoyed your cake as it was a pleasure to make it for you, welcome to married life may it be filled with love laughter and happiness!

A special thanks to Sue at Jetty for being so lovely, Rachel, my hubby Dave and all my friends and family who gave me support love ya!

bring on the next wedding ....
